Research Interests
My lab studies microbial communities. Most recently we have examined soils on the °®ÆＧ campus to identify the bacteria and fungi in different types of soil on campus. Previously we have examined agricultural and adjacent cemetery soils to investigate the effect of human disturbance on soil microbial communities. Both of these studies utilized next-generation DNA sequencing technology and bioinformatics to identify the microbes in the soil.
